Hassan Bakr Hassan is Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Commerce, Assiut University, Egypt, and Visiting Professor at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan. He received his B. S. and M. S. degrees in Political Science from Cairo University, Egypt (1974, 1980), an M. A. and a Ph.D. in Government and Politics from University of Maryland (1984, 1988). His is the author or co-author of numerous scholarly publications on international relations with emphasis on conflict and crisis management, on comparative politics with emphasis on the Middle Eastern political systems, on methodology and political theory.
