Welcome
to the Département d’information et de communication
of the Université Laval.
It is our pleasure
to welcome you in a Department that offers programs since 1968 including
courses taught by about
30 professors-researchers
and professionals, and approximately 30 other specialised educators
that come from the fields of journalism, public relations, publicity
and other
close disciplines of the Humanities. They work hand in hand with
a dozen secretarial employees to supervise 800 undergraduate and
graduate (masters
and Ph.D.) students. The Université Laval also facilitates the
use of new technologies.
The Department distinguishes itself from other departments of communication
of Québécois and Canadian universities by giving priority
to the study of professional practices of public communication and
their impact on social debates.
The Department encourages students to practice what
they learn in class by working for a student newspaper (L’Exemplaire),
a communication agency (Préambule-Communication), and a poll laboratory
(SondaCom).
Enjoy your stay at the Département d’information
et de communication ! |
